India is a multicultural nation where each state has its own regional language and culture. Every state and culture has its own sets of customs, history and folk songs. All these diversities make India a rich nation that preserves its ethnicity and cultural heritage. Indian pop song is very unique. If you are carefully consider, you will find that Indian pop songs is the most popular pop songs in the world. This is because India is the largest in the world, second rank from Russia. So it means that Indian songs will be the most popular too.
In terms of music, India is rich with classical and folk music that comes from various parts of different states. However, when it comes to Indian pop songs, there are many famous names in the pop songs industry that revolutionized the Indian pop industry. Some of the famous names that brought new music were Alisha Chinai, Baba Sehgal, Usha Uthup, Peenaz Masani, Sharon Prabhakar, Daler Mahendi, Shaan, Sagarika, Hariharan, Leslie Lewis, Daler Mahendi and Sonu Nigam. However, as India pop songs are not just limited to Bombay music industry as it is famous with among various states of India which have regional pop songs in various languages.
Indian pop songs are a fusion mix of Classical and Western genres along with regional and folk music that is infused into a potpourri. Therefore, given the popularity of Indian pop songs, Indian music has come to age of international standards where it is well known throughout the world.
