Well, pop music is a popular music form that has been famous for its novelty and flexibility of genre. As the name suggest, pop music is popular music that is contemporary genre: an amalgamation of all music forms such as rock, hip hop, jazz and blues.


In the recent billboard chart toppers as 2006 top pop songs, some of the famous pop music albums and singers included Nelly Furtado’s Promiscuous, Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie, Fray’s How To Save A Life, Pussycat Dolls Buttons, Justin Timberlake’s My Love, Sean Paul’s Temperature, Rihanna’s S.O.S, Natasha Bedingfield’s Unwritten, James Blunt’s Back to Bedlam, Cassie’s Me & U, Evanescence’s The Open Door, Kelly Clarkson’s Walk Away, Fergie’s The Dutchess, Christina Aguilera’s Hurt, Akon’s Konvicted and K.T. Tunstall’s Black Horse & The Cherry Tree along with many more names that have made 2006 a melodious year in the field of pop music.

However, pop music is like a fast selling hot cake that has many takers. Given the number of pop song that are popular in a year, it becomes difficult to retain top position in the billboard chart toppers list as songs come and go by making changes in the popularity levels. We can see from the list of 2006 to songs that who is the new comer and should be promoted in the year 2007. As you can see that top charts is not only benefit to the fans to see whether their favourite songs are famous but also benefit to songs artist and composer to see trends of song that will become famous in the following year.

2006 top pop songs had some phenomenal singers such as Shakira, Rihanna, Evanescence, Akon, Justin Timberlake, Pussycat Dolls, Fergie and James Blunt that gave refreshingly new music that became a rage among pop music lovers. So far, the year 2006 has been a good year for the music industry and given some equally good pop music in the current year, it appears that coming years will be great too.
